Job Summary:
This individual will provide/administer comprehensive technical knowledge of all tasks and responsibilities associated with quality engineering. Ensure that purchased parts and manufactured products are at acceptable levels of quality and company procedures and processes are followed. Collaborate with product design to provide insight into how to minimize labor requirements and determine assembly sequence. Evaluate methods to eliminate waste in the production process.
Essential Job Requirements:
- BS Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering degree or equivalent
- 2+ years of related manufacturing experience
Preferred Skills:
- Adept at Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Power Point & Visio
- Microsoft Access or other programming skills are helpful
- Well-developed communications, conflict management, coaching, interpersonal and team-building skills
- Creative problem-solving techniques and ability to accomplish tasks and objectives
Job Duties:
- Ensure implementation of all relevant procedures and work instructions described in the Quality Manual and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and ensure compliance
- Aid with building and sustaining a program for the implementation and sustainment of a continuous improvement culture
- Ensure necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all manufacturing and engineering requirements and audits
- Problem solve and introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate
- Aid with internal and process audits of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Participate in regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish action plans for improving building quality
- Aid with Supplier Quality Assurance to reduce the effect of non-conforming supplier materials on the production area quality
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
- Communicate with personnel at all levels, internally and externally to the Company, in relation to Quality matters
- Attend various meetings and action/ communicate instructions
- Produce written reports and organize presentations
- Undertake continuous training and development
- Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required
- Other duties as assigned
